Margaret Elaine White was born July 30, 1920, in Colo, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Harry Lee and Laura Lorene Granger Wilson.  She grew up in Colo where she graduated from Colo Consolidated High School in 1937.  She then attended Iowa Methodist Nursing School from 1938-1941.

Margaret and Carroll M. White were united in marriage March 31, 1941, in Albany, Missouri, then moved to Los Angeles, California. Carroll enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, and was stationed in Norman, Oklahoma, where Margaret and daughter, Carolyn, joined him.  Carroll went to work for the Fareway Stores, Inc. in 1945.  While with the company the family lived in Ames, Washington, Marshalltown, Decorah and Oskaloosa. After retirement in 1981, Margaret and Carroll loved spending their winters in Winter Haven, Florida.  In 1995, Margaret and Carroll returned to Colo to be closer to family and long time friends.

Margaret was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church. She was, throughout her life, a devoted mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed golf and bridge and was an avid reader. She was an ardent fan of Iowa State University sports. She followed college football and basketball (both men’s and women’s) and golf on television.

Survivors include three children: Carolyn Anderson (Mrs. Dale) of Venice, Florida, Ronald White of Strawberry, Arizona, and Kathy White (Heidi Hinchcliff) of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving are four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary (Mrs. Glen) Presnall, brother Donald (Ruth) Wilson, and sister-in-law Ardis Wilson.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, and her brothers Raymond and Richard (Phyllis) Wilson.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Margaret and her family.
