Dorothy worked 30 years at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada.  She was a faithful member of Memorial Lutheran Church and Ruth Circle, Moose Lodge (Women of the Moose), and also was active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).  She enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling, and loved to “see what was over the next hill.”  Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her children and grandchildren when they gathered together for family meals.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Sherry) Bullock of Ames, Connie Clark of Ames, and David (Elisa) Bullock of Poughkeepsie, NY; four grandchildren, Marne (Kelly) Steinke, Chris (Sandy) Clark, Monte (Tammy) Bullock, and Kyle (Rendee) Clark; eight great-grandchildren, Emily Clark, Sarah and Owen Steinke, Logan, Caleb, Abigail, and Madison Bullock, and Kyler Clark; and two sisters, Norma Angell of Cedar Rapids, and Marie Hill of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom in 2007; her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dorothy’s name may be directed to the family, c/o Ryan Funeral Home, P.O. Box 434, Nevada, IA  50201.

“My sympathies to you on your mom's passing. My late mom was Alice Tungesvik and both were very involved in Women of the Moose as the head person assisting each other for many years.

Mom was involved in putting on the CRAFT sales there for fundraisers for the Moose for many years.

I knew your dad, Tom, too. I enjoyed them both; but had a very special relationship with Dorothy.

I saw you Connie and Dorothy in Boone at the former restaurant that had buffets by the DQ.

RIP DOROTHY. I know you and Tom will get together with my folks, Si and Alice Tungesvik eventually and Dad will dance with your Mom as he did at the Moose lodge.

May God comfort you all on your 1st holidays without both parents. Nov. 13th is 3rd anniversary when my husband, Jack Gordon, passed away.”
