Marian Colleen Tendall, age 89, of Nevada, Iowa, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Story Medical Senior Care in Nevada.
The family greeted friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada.
Marian was born June 13, 1924, in Ames, Iowa, to Clarence and Grace (Wills) Davis. She graduated from Shipley High School in 1943. On November 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leonard Tendall.
Marian worked at Donnelley's before her marriage, then became a homemaker and dedicated mother. She was always sweet and kind to others.
Marian loved the time spent with her family, grandkids and great-grandkids, square dancing and her many cats.
Survivors include her children, Vicki of Nevada, Steven of Nevada, Roger (Val) of Nevada, Tim of Des Moines, and Mich (Marcia) of Nevada; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard in 2000; her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at their discretion at a later date. Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada was entrusted with the care of Marian and her family.
