Adam W. Blazek, age 36, died at his home in Nevada on Thursday, February 4, 2016.

Born October 3, 1979, in Ames, Iowa, Adam William Blazek was the son of William and Joann (Wilker) Blazek.  He grew up and received his education in Ames, graduating from Ames High School in 1997.

On April 18, 2009, Adam was united in marriage to Dena Kuhns at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.  The couple was blessed with two children, Carlie and Adden.  Adam was employed as a machine operator at 3M in Ames.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and camping, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Gophers, and Iowa State Cyclone fan.  Adam possessed an eye for detail which was demonstrated in his woodworking skills.  His favorite project, and the one of which he was most proud, was the kitchen he remodeled in his own home.  Adam had a quiet, unassuming personality and will be remembered for his big heart and caring nature.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dena; two children, Carlie and Adden, both at home; his parents, William and Joann Blazek of Ames; a brother, Chris (Melinda) Blazek and son Parker of Kelley; a sister, Brittany (Mike) Brown of Ames; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Adam was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Norbert and Helen Wilker; and his paternal grandparents, William and Evelyn Blazek, Sr.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Adam and his family.  A memorial fund in Adam’s name has been established at Community Bank, 1121 South G Avenue, Nevada, IA  50201.

“My dad was a person who knew how to make you laugh. He always made sure you had everything you needed and would do anything he possibly could to make sure you loved it. He was smart and he was respected by a lot of people. He was quiet and had a quiet personality but his family and I know that he was not shy! He was who I looked forward to seeing everyday when he came home. He told me I was smart, and if you knew him you would know that when he says something he means it. What he would say to me would really stick to me because I respected his opinion and I would do anything for him. He had a great smile and a contagious laugh. He knew how to make you feel loved and there won't be a day I won't think about him. He was needed in Heaven. I wish it would not have ended this way and I would do anything right now to just sit and talk to him. He made our home. He did everything to get it perfect. I loved the moment of seeing him proud of all of his great work he had done. He was hardworking and strong. He stood up for his family and I know he will be there for me. He will be there when I graduate from high school and college and I will picture him telling me that I am smart and I can be anything I want to be. He will be there when I walk down the isle and have my first child. He will be there. I can't imagine my life without you and I wish I didn't have to. I wish that he knew he was not alone and that I loved him very much. He was my role model. I remember the first time I saw you and I will never forget the last. I miss you so much and I know you will keep me, mom and Adden safe. I love you and rest in peace. I love you more than you ever knew dad.”

“Dena we are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed seeing you,Adam,Adden everyday for many years. I do have a lot of good memories and hope you do to. Adam was a wonderful person. He put up with a lot taking all the 4 year olds to school. I remember him racing them down the street. Many times with a smile and others not. But I do understand that. Those little angles could be a hand full. Remember the good and try to forget the bad. If you need anything we are always here for you. ”
